When typing in the words "climate change" on Google, the first thing that pops up is "NASA: Climate Change and Global Warming." Although this isn't the only website that gives facts and proof that climate change is a real thing, the question that remains is: "why are people choosing to ignore it?"
In a recent study, NASA stated that 97% or more of actively publishing scientists agree that the earth's climate is indeed warming. Although we have tons of people that are constantly studying and proving that climate change is really happening, there is still a large percentage of people who seem to disagree. The issue at hand is, this is a huge problem that everyone should care about, and yet some people still don't believe in it, or even worse, chose to believe that there is nothing we can or should do to reduce it. It is often debated that people are choosing to ignore it not because they deny that it exists, but because they don't want to give up what they have in order to potentially make life better for future generations. To further explain, they would much rather make money for themselves right now, instead of not making the money in the hopes that they can help make the world less warm in many years from now.
To 'save the planet' is a very broad statement. What does that really even mean? People are constantly saying to save the planet and yet, it looks like no one really truly cares enough. What does saving the planet really mean to you? How are YOU going to save the planet? The possibilities are endless.
