Maya Angelou, an acclaimed poet and civil rights activist once said:
"We may encounter many defeats, but we must not be defeated."
Women like Malala Yousafzai and Ayaan Hirsi Ali are two living examples of women who encountered many defeats but didn't allow themselves to be defeated. For those of you who don't know who these two amazing ladies are, Malala and Ayaan both experienced incredible hardships and traumas throughout their life. However, they used their experiences to go on to do great things for people everywhere. Malala is fighting for female education and recently won the Nobel Peace Prize, and Ayaan is best known for her award winning novels and fighting for the rights of Islamic women.
Similar to the generations before us, women have been constantly striving to make a change for the better. Those changes did not come easy; Rosa Parks, Mother Teresa, Harriet Tubman. These are the people that you think of when reflecting on women who made a difference in history. Although each of their stories are different, these women are proof that change is possible when you believe in yourself.
There is always a constant negativity towards the thought of one person making a difference. No one really seems to think that it's possible for them to accomplish something alone. Therefore, they think that there is no point in them trying. "The Inspiring Female Voices Of Our Generation" Also known as the title for this article. Why did I chose that you may ask. Well, the reasoning behind it is simple. We are the inspiring female voices of our generation. Even though we don't have a Nobel Peace Prize to show for it. Our job as women, men and people living on this earth is to inspire and make a change for generations to come, just like Rosa Parks, Mother Teresa, Harriet Tubman and so many more did for women like Malala and Ayaan and others around the world. When someone speaks up for what is right and what they believe in, even though it may be small, and forgotten a day later, that small change, that small spark, is what ignites a change.
Do YOU have what it takes to change the world? Strive to motivate others, and be the change. Be the Inspiring female voices of our generation.
